Whittle (No. 28)

This quilt was made in response to the International Quilt Museum’s Modern Meets Modern challenge.

Whittle was designed using the Carpenter’s Square block as a catalyst. The complexity of the traditional block was “whittled” down to just these nine intersecting lines. Designed in Adobe Illustrator and using a foundation paper piecing technique, the lines give the viewer the illusion that, if continued, they would appear woven together.
